Dry skin have used to moisturize but the tone is too dark so is not sheer enough.Love this! It’s very light and the tint is a good complimentary tone. This is a nice product to use when you are looking for a very light foundation color with moisturizer and SPF 40. A good summer product. I will buy it again.Love this! Better than Ella MD. Smoother!I thought the idea of a tinted sunscreen moisturizer seemed perfect. Unfortunately, I do not like this product. It isn't light in feel at all--it is thick and heavy. The kind that makes my skin break out. And then, the tint--which is a great idea looks yellowish. I purchased the light color because I have fair skin--a few shades darker than the lightest possible fair with pink and blue undertones. The yellowish tint is not at all attractive. And then, when I came to this page I find that the price has almost doubled since I ordered it. But then, I wouldn't buy it again at any price.Sunscreen is one of the cheapest, most accessible anti-aging items you can use. It is far more affordable and easier to use SPF regularly than to treat UV damage with expensive creams, lasers, and surgeries after the fact. I love finding it in more and more skincare, like moisturizers, making it more convenient to use. The tint is a bonus, as I am a makeup minimalist, assuming the hint of color doesn't turn me into an Oompa Loompa or a ghost.I am a natural, very fair redhead who freckles and burns. I've worn all manner of sunscreen creams, gels, lotions, etc., over the last 40 years. I've used the unpleasant, beachy-smelling, thick sticky ones to the most beautiful, near-invisible, lightweight, odorless water gels. And I've paid across a broad price point. Most recently, I tried the Avya Hydroveda Tinted Moisturizer SPF 40. It comes in a soft 1.7oz polyplastic pump tube and retails for $38 as of this writing. Is it worth it? For me, unfortunately, no. I have some concerns about the product, the price-point, and its performance. I will likely not repurchase.First, normally, I would not nitpick the chemical or physical blockers in an SPF. Instead, I advocate for finding a UVA-UVB full-spectrum one you like with at least a rating of 30 and slathering it on regularly. This SPF has an amalgamation of sunscreen filters: titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Both provide either partial or extensive protection from UVA and UVB. However, there seems to be something amiss about the woefully low percentages of titanium dioxide (2%) and zinc oxide (1%) listed under active ingredients on the Avya Skincare Hydrovenda Tinted Moisturizer (SPF40).While the SPF numbers on labels, in general, aren't 100% accurate, as these can be slightly subjective, the percentages vs. the offered amount of coverage seem low to me when I compare them to the dozen other facial sunscreens I have lying around the house. For example, I have another similar tinted SPF36 made with only 20% zinc oxide. So how is the Avya one giving me an SPF of 40 with the percentages above?I tend to default into layering multiple forms of sunscreen anyway. So, I wouldn't solely rely on this. Plus, I need coverage on my ears, lips, neck, chest, etc., and tend to apply a clear sunscreen base all over, then use tinted BBs, SPF, and or moisturizer to my face.I'm not outright saying this is a bad SPF-enhanced moisturizer. I'm just skeptical about the efficacy of the advertised protection and don't feel confident I'm getting the coverage I need to protect my face from UV damage. As a tinted moisturizer, this also falls short for me. I have sensitive, combination-to-oily, acne-prone skin. You'd think it would have good spreadability, but as soon as this makes contact with an already hydrated face, it quickly dries to a near-matte finish. If I don't massage it quickly enough, it doesn't spread well, and I end up with discolored or splotchy spots. The tint is much darker than the images on the sales post, as of this writing. However, it doesn't turn me orange and fades from a medium brown to a healthy near sheer sun-kissed blur. Doesn't oxidize darker later either. But, as is, this tinted moisturizer isn't worth me spending $38.I'm still going to give it fair marks for not making me look greasy or shiny. It does have a lightweight feel and doesn't cause irritation or breakouts. No weird or unpleasant smell.Avya Skincare Hydroveda Tinted Moisturizer is a Broad Spectrum SPF 40 tinted mineral sunscreen with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. This is a good lightweight moisturizer and tinted sun block. This absorbs well but takes a few minutes if I’m sweaty at all (it’s been about 100), and the color rubs off but only until fully absorbed. This isn’t greasy or sticky on me. I don’t smell fragrance or a sunscreen smell, just a hint of what I assume is the smell of the ingredients.I have dry skin and this provides me almost enough moisture to skip my moisturizer, but I still prefer using it after another moisturizer like I’d apply a typical sunblock just because I like a lot of hydration with my dry skin type. But it seems moisturizing enough for most skin types as I get enough moisture that this minimizes my fine lines, and my skin feels soft and pretty comfortable used alone. My skin is sensitive, and this is gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin. The % of sunscreen minerals seems low to get to a 40 SPF, but I’m not an expert so I can’t explain why it adds up to a 40 SPF. But I haven’t gotten a burn or any color when using this in 100 degree heat. However, while I get some sun exposure running errands, walking, watering out in the backyard and so on, it’s so hot that I don’t expose my face to direct sun for lengthy periods. It’s really nice for these type of activities when I’m not up for full makeup. The tint looks darker than the current stock photo, but I don’t find it too dark. It adds just a hint of color to my light skin that has an olive hue, and it eliminates the issue of having a white cast. It looks sheer and natural worn alone and also doesn’t show when worn under my foundation. With nothing over it, it evens my skin tone slightly and covers minor flaws. It’s a nice product. Like it. 4 stars.
